I feel like bsg might have tried to curb this by upping the raider spawn rate when d2 is turned on. Find the best loot and key locations in all Escape from Tarkov maps. Reserve bunker is just linear and i’ve literally had situations where i need to progress to d2 or to the switch and I just can’t because i am voiping the dude camping the other side. Interchange is similar to the bunker in that there are lots of dark corners and angles, but there are significantly more paths.
I think a lot of these problems could be resolved with alternate pathing. Hermetic door and the whole top side is usually pretty solid but since all the good loot got moved to lighthouse it’s made reserve top side kinda ass other than the few rooms everyone’s been hitting since 2019. I’ve had good fights in bunker, but the darkness/angles/audio make for more frustration than they do good fights. This isn’t to say that you can’t have good pvp on reserve. I’ve encountered 3-4 extract campers in 15-20 raids they typically just prone in the big room behind that “wooden wheel thingy” and the other rooms between switch and d2. The holy grail and best map for loot in Tarkov is the army themed Reserve and is simply packed with loot. I just think that it suffers a lot in early/mid wipe because the risk/reward isn't there until you have rr. I started playing tarkov when reserve dropped and remember the glory days of it being filled with loot and the map everyone ran for everything. Like if I want to loot I'm gonna run either shoreline/interchange/lighthouse because there is better loot, and if I want PVP I'd rather go factory/customs/interchange because extracts aren't as annoying. It's a weird mesh of juiced PMCs trying to loot, rats trying to loot, and people just PVPing while not doing any of them particularly well. I feel like reserve gets a lot of the annoying players from shoreline/interchange/factory. Extract campers are uncommon across pretty much every map, even factory I rarely see people camping gate 3. Never seen someone directly camp D2, but the rooms that lead from the power switch to D2 and especially the big room were where I've seen people. I've seen 3-4 in the 15-20 reserve runs I've done this wipe.
